Taiwan Tea No. 12, also known as Jin Xuan or 27zai, is a tea tree variety cultivated by the Taiwan Tea Research and Extension Station in 1981. Its experimental code was 2027, and it was bred through the hybridization of a male parent "Qingxin Damu" and a female parent "Tainong No. 8". It was the 12th successful variety developed by the research station. Professor Wu Zhen-duo, the station's director, named Taiwan Tea No. 12 after his grandmother, "Jin Xuan."

Jin Xuan tea has a unique orchid fragrance, sometimes accompanied by a light scent of caramel. It offers a clean, sweet, smooth, and creamy texture with multiple layers of flavor. This distinctive taste is rare in other tea varieties, which is why it has gained widespread attention and popularity.
