Episode 7: Savouring Taiwanese tea in Europe

In today’s episode, we are having Lucy, the founder of teafriend.shop, spill the tea with us!

Lucy is currently based in Germany but originally from Taiwan. She created teafriend.shop to sell Taiwanese tea and share Taiwanese tea culture to the world by travelling around Europe. 

While Lucy travels, she observes and learns how people are using different methods to brew tea, she finds localisation of tea culture intriguing and shares with us the different tea cultures of Germany, France, London and Prague. For her, tea is not just for drinking but also for sharing different experiences and making more friends.   

On the other hand, Lucy shares Taiwan’s tea culture. In Taiwan, tea is a combination of tea and art, and performing tea art and sharing tea with friends is an essential entertainment and social way in Taiwanese people’s life. Moreover, Lucy talks about the eco-farming of tea plantations in Nan-Tou, one of the main tea-producing cities in Taiwan.
