This piece is customised furniture made specially for each order. The production time is approximately 3 months or longer depending on the workshop schedule. Please consult us before ordering to confirm the estimated delivery timeline. As each item is made to order, this product cannot be returned or exchanged once production begins. If you are unsure about the size, material or finish, we recommend visiting our showroom to see the furniture in person before placing your order.
Gohobi Handmade Solid Wood Stool or Cushion
This square black walnut solid wood stool combines natural craftsmanship with the comfort of genuine leather. The sturdy wooden frame is paired with a leather cushion seat, making it suitable for dining rooms, living rooms, tea rooms or study spaces. Its clean and simple structure allows it to fit easily into both modern and traditional interiors while maintaining a calm, natural aesthetic.
Each piece in the Gohobi furniture collection is handcrafted from carefully selected solid wood. The seat cushion uses first layer genuine cowhide leather, providing both comfort and durability while maintaining the natural character of the material.
Wood grain is the mark left by a tree during its growth. We aim to use these natural resources responsibly. The changing wood grain and occasional tree knots will be retained in our furniture to reflect the authenticity and beauty of nature. Because each piece is handmade, every stool will have its own unique character and subtle differences.
The wood used by us is certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), ensuring a balance between logging and reforestation. This promotes sustainable use of forest resources and reduces excessive consumption of natural materials. We use North American recyclable FAS grade wood certified by the FSC Forest Stewardship Council. FSC, established in 1993, is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting responsible forest management worldwide.
Our furniture is finished with wood wax oil, a natural and environmentally friendly wood coating made from vegetable oils and natural wax. The oil penetrates the wood while protecting it and preserving the natural texture and warmth of the material. The finish remains breathable and comfortable to the touch, making it ideal for furniture used in everyday living spaces.
We use Osmo wood wax oil, a professional German wood finishing brand made with natural base materials including soybean oil, linseed oil and palm wax. The finish is formaldehyde-free and contains no heavy metals or harmful volatile substances. It complies with EU EN71-3 and DIN53160 safety standards, ensuring the furniture is safe for use in healthy homes.
Please note that the price listed is for one wooden stool or one cushion only. If you would like both the stool and the cushion, please add both items to your basket separately before checkout.
Please check the measurement details carefully in the product photos before placing your order. As each piece is handmade, slight variations in size and wood grain may occur.
Leather Care Instructions
Avoid exposure to strong sunlight and moisture. Cowhide leather needs to be protected from direct sunlight and rain. Prolonged sunlight can cause the leather surface to fade, while moisture or rain may lead to mould developing on leather goods. Due to the natural characteristics of suede and leather, extended exposure to sunlight may cause fading. It is best to keep the furniture away from direct light and avoid placing it near windows or on balconies. Choose a cool, well-ventilated and dry location instead.
Pay attention to waterproofing and stain prevention during daily use. If water or stains come into contact with the leather surface, wipe it gently with a clean cotton cloth as soon as possible.
Avoid scratching the leather surface. Keep the leather away from hard objects, sharp objects and sticky items such as keys, nails, pen tips or adhesive materials which may damage or scratch the leather.
For daily care, gently wipe the surface with a clean soft towel to remove dust.
The scars on cowhide products are inevitable. During their growth, cattle naturally develop marks of life such as small scars from movement or insect bites. Before any cowhide is used in production, each hide undergoes a careful manual inspection. Hides with knife marks, cracks, large scars or defects that would affect durability are rejected and not used. Minor natural marks such as small scars, belly wrinkles or visible veins that do not affect overall quality may remain. After careful treatment, these natural characteristics are retained where appropriate, allowing us to make responsible use of natural resources. We appreciate your understanding.
